Perfect duo, sea dipping and helping others
The North Sea Vikings were born from a challenge created to raise funding for the Haagse Rugby Club, the "Ice Ice Baby Challenge", in 2021. The youngsters needed new training equipment and, indeed, they got it. Thanks to the North Sea Vikings, brave dippers and generous donors. The year after, they repeated the "Ice Ice Baby Challenge" to raise funding for the Haagse Rugby Club a second time. The first plan was to help buy a video recording system. In the end, the club chose to buy instead a series of tables to support the social activities. There was no doubt when exchanging ideas on the future of the "Ice Ice Baby Challenge", whether to continue it and why. The North Sea Vikings enjoy sea dipping, but it is far better to do it while helping others. The perfect duo! The first months of the year, January to March, is when the North Sea is coldest (5-7 degrees). As such, the "Ice Ice Baby Challenge" gives the North Sea Vikings extra motivation to leave their warm bed and dip in the cold North Sea. Every year, the North Sea Vikings will choose a new local charity to help the city of The Hague and Scheveningen in particular.

De North Sea Vikings zijn ontstaan uit een challenge om geld in te zamelen voor de Haagse Rugby Club, de "Ice Ice Baby Challenge", in 2021. De jongeren hadden nieuwe trainingsapparatuur nodig en die hebben ze ook gekregen. Met dank aan de North Sea Vikings, dappere dippers en gulle gevers. Het jaar daarop herhaalden ze de "Ice Ice Baby Challenge" om voor de tweede keer geld in te zamelen voor de Haagse Rugby Club. Het eerste plan was om te helpen bij de aanschaf van een video-opnamesysteem. Uiteindelijk koos de club ervoor om in plaats daarvan een reeks tafels te kopen om de sociale activiteiten te ondersteunen. Bij het uitwisselen van ideeën over de toekomst van de "Ice Ice Baby Challenge" bestond er geen twijfel over het voortzetten ervan en waarom. De North Sea Vikings houden van zeebaden, maar het is veel beter om het te doen terwijl je anderen helpt. Het perfecte duo! In de eerste maanden van het jaar, januari tot maart, is de Noordzee het koudst (5-7 graden). Zo geeft de "Ice Ice Baby Challenge" de North Sea Vikings extra motivatie om hun warme bed te verlaten en in de koude Noordzee te duiken. Elk jaar gan de North Sea Vikings een nieuw lokaal goed doel kiezen om de stad Den Haag en Scheveningen in het bijzonder te helpen.
